ABOUT
Harris Benjamin Deno
In my studio I take little mind moments as inspiration for iterative renderings. My practice involves a variety of media and consequently a variety of mark making. Sometimes a brush, sometimes a pen; Sometimes a shape or a pattern, and quite often a word. These marks and thoughts, these renderings - they become layered and begin to interrupt one another, they become involved with one another and convolute. The abstraction of imagery between mind and mark making happens like the racing of thoughts and the immediacy of feelings - they just are in that moment and can be only from that moment. The resulting work asserts a unique legibility to the moment it was created rather than to any specific memory that inspired it.
